The city of Asheville is home to some of the best restaurants in North Carolina. From upscale establishments to casual eateries, these five restaurants will have you spoiled for choice! Recently named the top trending foodie destination by Yelp, Asheville is the place to indulge in food. Here are five great places to get your food fix!
If you’re visiting the south, indulge and try a classic biscuit! With 3 locations in Asheville, Biscuit Head is the must visit restaurant for the City’s best biscuits. The Mimosa Fried Chicken is delicious and cooked to perfect, with the right amount of crunch. A fluffy biscuit is topped with sweet potato butter and a poached egg. We recommend trying their house-made gravy on the side, it’s perfect for dipping! And don’t forget to stop by the jam and jelly station. Who doesn’t love jam with their biscuit! We suggest arriving early or visiting during the week day as there’s usually a line up out the door.
Jettie Rae’s Oyster House
Hands down Jettie Rae’s Oyster House is best place for fresh seafood in the city! The east coast oyster selection is always amazing and served with cocktail sauce, horseradish and mignonette. Be sure to try the tender and juicy Octopus A La Planxa and the daily ceviche served with plantain chips. We suggest making reservations to guarantee a seat. If you’re looking for a quick bite and drink, you can stop by the 17ft airstream food truck right out the restaurant. They offer oysters, drinks and open seasonally from 4:00pm until closing but weather permitting. If you’re staying at one of our Asheville homes and looking for private catering check out Cielo a catering company started by Jettie Raes Chef/Owner Eric Scheffer. They offer unique culinary experiences!
Who doesn’t love tacos?! White Duck Taco Shop is a staple local taco shop here in Asheville. With an array of tacos to choose from our top taco flavors is the Korean Beef Bulgogi, Lamb Gyro, Fish and Bangkok Shrimp. If you’re visiting during the summer definitely try the Chilled Tomato Gazpacho, perfect on a warm day. We highly recommend visiting the River Arts District location as it’s nestled right next to the French Broad River with plenty of outdoor seating and umbrellas. Open daily from 11:30am to 9:00pm. It’s worth the wait! If you’re craving these tacos after visiting Asheville you’re in luck as they have expanded to Tennessee and South Carolina!
